It has been about a year since the Moore County Board of Commissioners received an update on the potential return of commercial air service at the Moore County Airport.
Last June, Airport Director Rick Cloutier presented an air service development study done by Volaire Aviation Consulting regarding the feasibility of commercial flights from the airport to some of the country’s top destinations.
Now, scheduled for Aug. 5, county commissioners will get a chance to refresh their understanding of commercial airport service and all that it could imply for the area.
“(The meeting) is a workshop is what it really is,” said Cloutier. “We want to update the commissioners on commercial air service and progress up to this point.”
Cloutier is set to be accompanied by an air service development consultant from Volair Aviation Consulting during the workshop to help answer questions. Volaire was the same company that helped to establish first-time air service at the Concord-Padgett Regional Airport in Concord.
